all of our jockey silks :) |
For READING today, we completed a reading comprehension passage where we read about the very first Kentucky Derby and answered questions that coincided.
For SOCIAL STUDIES, we completed our hats and our ties that symbolize the wonderful traditions that go with the Derby.
For WRITING, students created their own stories and they were HILARIOUS!
Finally, this afternoon, the students worked on creating their Derby placemats and MATH, practicing place value using statistics we found centered around the annual event.

everything about this picture makes me laugh!!! :) :) :) :) :) |
HOMEWORK: All students will need to read at least 20 minutes this evening. We are picking back up with our routines now that we are over the big "hump" of testing. Thus, planners also need to be signed NIGHTLY again.
**ALSO, ANY STUDENT WHO WAS IN MY READING CLASS FROM JANUARY through NOW NEEDS TO TURN IN HIS/HER CHAPTER BOOKS FROM READING GROUPS (Dollhouse Murders; Loser; Bud, not Buddy; or the Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe)!!!**
Have an AWESOME night!
xoxo,
Mrs. Thomas
