3.2.15 DAY ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY ONE

Hey there 5th grade! Happy 1st day of school in March this year! I can't believe were already in March...it feels like yesterday I met you all on Halloween...and now this is my last MONDAY blog post with you! It seems like most of you enjoyed your long weekends...I did as well :) I hope you all had a wonderful day at school today. This week will be a full week of learning for us 5th graders! We need to be sharp for when Mrs. Thomas gets back in a week :) I know coming into school on a Monday after a long weekend off can be challenging...but I think you guys tried really hard to stay on task today. As far as the rest of the week goes...DON'T FORGET that our exciting Field Trip is tomorrow! You may wear your gym clothes for it...make sure to dress warm! I would even wear a rain jacket possibly because it is 80% chance of rain for tomorrow. We will leave after our 1st special area and get back to school right around lunch time & resume the rest of a normal Tuesday Resource day.

Check out what was up in the 5th grade today...

LANGUAGE ARTS: I CAN...find inferences in text. I CAN... write a memior. Today we looked at the reading skill of fluency and practiced fluency with a reading passage poster. We also continued to work in our reading groups and spent some SSR time at our desks.
HOMEWORK: Read for 30 minutes :) Reading logs due by Friday mornings.

SCIENCE:
HOMEWORK: Read lesson 3 in Chapter 2 and finish plant conclusion.

SOCIAL STUDIES:
HOMEWORK: Test Wednesday.

MATH: I CAN...review Chapter 4. Today we took a look at our Ch. 4 test and went through and worked out the problems we got wrong on the test.
HOMEWORK: Workbook page 48 is due Wednesday and Simple Solutions 7 & 8 by Friday morning. **We will check over Simple Solutions 5 & 6 answers on Wednesday**

RELIGION:
HOMEWORK: Vocabulary test Thursday.

**Reminders:

• Fish Fry's are on Friday's during Lent :)
• Due to the number of snow days, we will be pushing back the end of the trimester to THIS FRIDAY. Report cards will be available via Sycamore on Monday, March 9th.
• Science Field Trip is TOMORROW...we will be back to school in time for lunch this day (students may wear P.E. clothes).
• Terra Nova Testing begins the week of March 9
