10.21.14 - Day FORTY-SIX

Happy Tuesday all!  It was Resource Day for our babies today!

Sadly, both classes had an extremely negative report (screaming, pushing, yelling, beyond excessive talking, refusal to abide by school rules for hallway behavior, unruly...to name a few) in the transition from walk to lunch and thus, consequences are in action for this as well.  I wish I could start off each day with an exceptional report of how awesome behavior was, but sadly that is just not the case these days.  When other teachers come to me exasperated with the 5th graders, my heart absolutely aches! I know how truly phenomenal my babies are and for others to not get to experience what I know they're capable of, makes me beyond devastated.  These are such wonderful kids with the most vivacious spirits and well-rounded senses of self and this just cannot slide!  They will be held accountable to these higher standards and expectations because it is what they are capable of achieving.  Please know I do hate having to constantly dish out these consequences and putting so many plans into action in this arena (it takes so very much time and focus away from instruction), but that's the way it's going to have to be for a while, I suppose.  In the meantime of ironing out this situation, please discuss with your student ways in which he/ she can ensure he/ she is consistently exhibiting high standards of good behavior at all times while in the walls of this building.
